When Jimmy opened up the restaurant almost a decade ago, there were no plates, but rather pinewood boats to serve the food in; (This is why we call it the HENCH BOX!) we’ve come a long way and we’re super proud to still be serving it up in Chorlton!

Inspired from his travels around the Caribbean and influential people in his life, The Drop was born in 2015.

Open seven days a week until late, The Drop Cafe Bar is one of several bonafide institutions that have made Chorlton’s Barlow Moor Road parade of bars, serving up some of the best Caribbean dishes around,

With an extensive and curated menu from show stoppers of the Hench Box to Peppered Steak with Spinners, Stewed Chicken with Dumplings, and the best-selling Six Stages Jerk Chicken.

Be sure to visit us on Sunday, for our Reggae Roast service, which turns the classic British Sunday dinner into something with far more kick. Options include the Lemon & Thyme BBQ Chicken, traditional Rice ’n’ Peas, Mac and Cheese and Sweet Potato.

“Taste the food every day and respect everyone” Jims says finishing off his interview with The Manchester Evening news from 2024.
